Today we did  KWL chart where we had to write about what we knew about white tailed spiders and what what we want to know.  Then we read the book and I added on what I learnt.

Today Mars read a book call Mighty Muscles.  I learnt that:

• You have more than 600 muscles in your body.  
• When you rest your Muscles rest too.  
• I care about Muscles when I don't frown all the time.  
• It is important to warm up and cool down when you exercise.  

I like this book because it helps me learn about my Muscles.

My Reflection

In this piece of work I was learning to find and summarise information fromm the text.  I know that we have more than 600 hundred muscles in our bodies.  I got a lots better at looking at the contents page to help me find articles.  My next step is to only write the important parts to the story in my own words.

I was so happy when I got my gold certificate for Mathletics.  I have been working really hard towards this.  I am trying to get another one!

The three fat sheep and the bear

The three fat sheep and the scary bear

A long long time ago there was a scary, fat, bad bear that was the hungriest bear you ever have seen.  

One spooky,scary night he saw three, enormous, fat sheep wandering around.  Suddenly POP the bear came out.  The fat little sheep ran and ran as fast as they could.  

As they ran away, the first little sheep saw a short weak man that had banana and apple.  The first little sheep made a house out of the apples and bananas.

The second fat sheep saw lots of sour lollies and he made them into a lolly house.  

The third fat sheep built a house out of hard brick .

The scary bear went and saw the first little fat sheep’s house made out of banana and apples.  He said “LET ME COME IN.”  The fat sheep said, “No, no, no, not by the hair on my chinny chin chin.  The scary bear huffed and puffed and blew the house that was made out of banana and apples down. The first little sheep ran into the second sheeps house.

 

Later he saw the second sheep in the lolly house and he said “LET ME COME IN.”  The fat sheep said, “no, no, no not by hair on my chinny chin chin.”  The scary bear huffed and puffed and blew the sour lolly house down.  The first and second  little sheep ran into the third sheeps house.

Before long he went to the third fat sheep and said “LET ME COME IN.” The fat sheep said, “no, no, no not by the hair on my chinny  chin chin.”  The scary bear huffed and  puffed and huffed and puffed and ….... couldn’t blow down the house.  

Then he went far far away.  He was never found again.  

The three little sheep know not to wander again.

Our Enterprise Inquiry

We have been learning about Enterprise.  We have been looking at Enterprises undertaken by children. This is what my group learned about an enterprise called Racing against Cancer.

In reading I have been learning to find and summarise information in a non-fiction text by skimming and  scanning.

My learning was to find vocablory in a non-fixion text.We had done a poppet about Energy.

This is my self portrait .  We did this in Te Tuhi.

I like it because we had to draw it like us.   Th tricky part was painting it not on the blue.

This art was fun because you had to do comic life.  The tricky part was cutting it out.

My reading reflection

I have been learning to summarise the main idea in a fiction text.
We used a story pyramid to help us summarise Grandad's Dinosaur.
I found this a bit hard because I couldn't remember the sentence.
One thing I did well was trying to find the key word.
My next step is to write the idea in my our word.

Fractions Goal

I am learning to add and subtract fractions with a common denominator.

I know that I can do this when:

I can add and subtract the numerators together

I can recognise that the denominator doesn’t change if the fractions have a common denominator

I learnt that you don't have to add the denominator because they are part of the whole.
